E-Mail from SSG Simpson, James E.
Greetings everyone,
So I received a box, here in Iraq, that was packed into another box
that was filled with a lot of boxes. This box also had a shoebox letter
stuck to it. From there I stumbled onto a website and then some names on
the website to email a small thank you note to. I am not sure how I got
the box or where the box came from other than it ended up in my hands
from someone passing by. I wanted to write to someone to say thank you
so very much for the box that contained goodies and wipes and shampoo
which I don't need as I shave my head but still cool cause I know
another Soldier with lots of hair who needed it, heh heh. So I kept the
toothpaste, and the purple toothbrush and the wipes and put the rest of
the munchies out for the youngins. Now I say youngins but I am only 33
years old I still a young buck in dinosaur years.
We receive letters thanking us for what we do and we shrug it
off slightly embarrassed to be put in the spotlight. To be thought of as
something more than just another Soldier is unsettling, and so to return
the favor, I meaning we, an Army of One are thanking you meaning all of
you for the over 25000 boxes (cause that's a lot of boxes) that you have
sent and we appreciate you all so much! So If you would see fit to
kindly pass along this letter to the person that packed the box inside
the box that was full of a lot of boxes and thank this person(s) for me
(us), I (we) would be grateful.
Sincerely,
SSG Simpson, James E.
