E-Mail from Lt. Col. TREVOR ROSENBERG

Thank you so much for the wonderful "operation shoe box" packages your Girl Scouts sent. We truly recognize the sacrifice these girls, and their families, make and the significant amount of time involved. What a wonderful program Operation Shoe Box and the Girl Scouts are, helping teach these young ladies the value of service, commitment, giving, and obviously... hard work. Every piece of mail is received here with thankful hearts. And, when the mail includes packages, and ones full of goodies, it's like Christmas! The troops-or Airmen, Soldiers, and Marines in our case-liven up, smile, rummage, barter, share, etc... The packages definitely boost morale. Our team is located at a Forward Operating Base within a few kilometers of the Pakistan Border, working side by side with Afghan and Pakistani soldiers. So, needless to say, any amenities are hard to come by. So, in addition to the yummy food, the toiletries and personal products are greatly appreciated. Having served in both Afghanistan and Iran multiple times since 2003, I personally and thankful for the overwhelming support the military personnel receive from Americans back home. It is truly heartening, and motivating, to know the support we have, regardless of the mission or the location. It eases any sacrifice on our part and the time away from our families and homeland. Please express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to these young women and your community for your service and sacrifice. It is our honor to serve this great nation and protect the freedoms we hold so dear. God bless you, and God Bless America! We have attached some pictures for you to see the beneficiaries of your hard work! Classification: UNCLASSIFIED Caveats: FOUO
