Dear Operation Shoebox NJ Staff, Volunteers, and of course the young ladies of the Daisy Girl Scout Troop #587, I've recently had the honor and privilege to receive one of your care packages, along with many other Soldiers in our Task Force here in Afghanistan. It's very comforting in knowing that the civilians of our nation have not forgotten our men and women in the Armed Forces and what they're doing out here thousands of miles away from home. It's truly a blessing for us to witness what patriotism and dedication to our nation's mission you fellow Americans hold. Something that touches us on a much deeper level is knowing that our Youth also appreciates us. So from the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of the men and women here in my unit, thank you, great job, and may God Bless You All! The picture I've attached was taken shortly after opening a package, and the items I'm holding up have the names Jordyn on one and Sydney on another. I'd like to take this time to thank the two of you for your art/illustrations. They will be posted on my desk for the duration of my deployment, and will be given to my 7yr old daughter once I return home to her; by this she'll know there are other little girls out there just like her thinking about the Soldiers. :) V/R SSG Ramos, Michael 3-4 AVN BN Career Counselor TF Comanche FOB Shindand, Afghanistan
